Minutes of General Body Meeting of BOS held on 09-12-2006 at Hotel Maurya, Patna

 

In Chair – Dr. Ranjan Kumar Akhaury, President BOS

 

  1. Meeting started withcondolence offered to departed members of Bihar Ophalmological Society. We lost Dr. Awadhesh Prasad, Dr. Sree Mohan Mishra, Dr. Anjani Kishore Prasad and Dr. B.K. Mishra in last one year. Prof. J.N. Rohatgi spoke dr. Awadhesh Prasad. Prof. A.S.B. Sahay spoke for Dr. Shree Mohan Mishra. Dr. B. Choudhary spoke for Dr. Anjani Kishore Prasad. Dr. Arvind Kumar Jaiswal spoke for Dr. B.K. Mishra. Two minutes silence was observed by all members to pay homage to them.

  1. In absence of Treasurer Dr. Ngendra Prasad, Secretary Dr. Subhash Prasad presented the audited account for the year ending March 2006. It was passed by the body.

  1. Budget estimates for year 2007-2008 was read by Dr. Subhash in absence of Treasurer.

Proposed – Dr. Vishwaratan

Seconded – Dr. R.K. Tewary

  1. Editor Dr. Vishwaratan presented the audited accounts of Bihar Journal of Ophthalmology. It was adopted.

Proposed – Dr. Sunil Kumar Singh

Seconded – Dr. ravi Ranjan

Editor Dr. Vishwaratan offered to  relinquish the post of editor due to personal reasons.

GB ratified Dr. Sudhir Kumar as New Editor which was earlier passed by Executive body in meeting held on 08-12-2006. Dr. Arvind Kumar Jaiswal thanked Dr. Vishwaratan for his contributions as Editor of Journal.

  1. GB ratified the decision taken in the first meeting that Scientific committee fund will be jointly operated by Chairman Scientific Commettee and Treasurer.

  1. Sixteen new mwmbers were introduced to the house and their membership ratified.
  2. Certificates to new members were distributed.
  3. Invitation of Dr. Harshwardhan to host next year Annual Conference at Bhagalpur was accepted.
  4. Chairman Scientific Committee, Dr. Arvind Kumar Jaiswal informed that from year 2007 Mid year conference will be started. He proposed that as in past Secretary BOS will be the organizing secretary.
  5. Secretary informed that BOS will undertake community related programme and for this he proposed the name of Dr. Sunil kumar Singh as convenor.

  1. Awards:

R.P. Jaiswal memento whict is to be given every year to President has been started this year. This memento will be given in name of late R.P. Jaiswal, father of Dr. Arvind Kumar Jaiswal who donated Rs. 20000.00 (Rs. Twenty thousand). The GB thanked Dr. Arvind Kumar Jaiswalvfor the fund.

Dr. V.N. Prased informed the GB that an oration will be started in the name of Dr. R.H.P. Sinha in Mid year conference. Video session in annual conference will be in name of Dr. Anjani Kishore Prasad. The oration fund of rupees 50000.00 (Rs. Fifty thousand) each will be donated by Dr. V.N. Prasad for Dr. R.H.P. Sinha and Dr. B. Choudhary for Dr. Anjani Kishore Prasad.

In place of cash prize of Rs. 500.00 the winner of best essay will be given. Dr. Dukhan Ram Gold Medal and a citation from year 2007.
